Weekly confession: What is your worst beauty sin?

I've seen this on at least a couple of blogs now and I thought  it was a fun idea to adopt it to my blog as well. :) Write a comment in the comments section for this post, telling us about your own beauty sins.

So this weeks question:

What is your worst beauty sin?

It could be anything really; overplucking your brows, too much rouge or a foundation that is far too dark for your skin maybe? Something that you do although you know it's not entirely good.

For me my worst beauty sin is definitely that I often neglect my hair when doing a look. I put so much focus on my makeup (especially the eye makeup) so I don't have time, energy or patience left to spend on my hair. This often leaves me with a very unfinished look - bold makeup combined with a sloppy, slightly tangled mini-pony-tail on my head. Haha, I bet it looks kind of weird some times. :) I'm also kind of lazy when it comes to re-dying my hair, particularly my sideburns that get color-deprived much, much faster than the rest of my purple fluff. So I usually end up with blondish sideburns and purple on the rest of my head. XD

Crazy makeup combined with "lazy" hair.

So, now, let me hear your confessions my dear readers! :)

  1. My biggest beauty sin is that I tend to be lazy with the overall keeping up. It might take me month (or roots of up to 2-3cm) until I recolour my hair. I might take 2-3 weeks until I reshape my eyebrows. And some days have passed since I repair/redo my manicure in which I walk around with broken nailpolish far beyond tipwear...

    1. I recognize that problem! Some times time just passes so quickly and you realize you haven't done your hair for ages. XD

  2. Okaay...where do I start?...
I massacred my eyebrows. I have very thick bushy eyebrows, i plucked them to non-existence and also shortened the hairs a lot. So regardless of all tutorials and stencils, they are always crooked, misshapen and simply weird. Oh, God!
Secondly, i am not entirely sure this is necessarily a sin, but i always wear a lot of makeup, gothic, dramatic, full face makeup. And sometimes it doesn't fit the situation or the outfit, since we all know you can't always be wearing a victorian outfit or full latex catsuit when you go grocery shopping ...

    1. Misshaped eyebrows can be very annoying. That's probably why I shaved mine off. XD
Is "too much" and "makeup" words that can coexist in the same sentence? ;) Haha, no just kidding, I know what you mean. I often get weird glances as well when I walk to the grocery store in... ehm... "strange" makeup creations. XD

    2. ...oh, speaking of hair...I wash my hair every day because I hate it if it is not perfectly neat. So basically my black permanent dye lasts for about 3 weeks, since all the washing rinses it out. So i wash obsesively and always get psychotic if i think my hair is flat.

  3. Okay, my old beauty sins were turqouise eyeshadow (not blended of course... just smashed on...) combined with pink glitter lipgloss. I was 13 then, so... ;D

Now I often have absolutely no time to re-dye my hair, so my blue (or purple) and green washes out until I'm almost blond... And I also often have no time for my nails so I walk around with cracked nailpolish.

    1. Haha, that sounds cute! ^_^

Problem with blue or purple hair is that it looks grey if you don't re-dye it often enough. At least mine does.

  4. I'm paranoid about face-shine, so I probably use too much powder. But in some ways, I'd rather look like a cake than an oil-slick. ^_^

    1. Mmm, cake! ;D I find that blotting papers are better to erase shine than powder, though, so I can highly recommend them! :)

  5. I sometimes go to sleep with makeup on :(
Bad, bad thing to do but sometimes when Im too tired (or too drunk :D) I just stop caring about skincare :D

    1. I have only slept with my makeup on once and got a bad eyeinfection as a result, so I don't dare doing that again. :P

  6. I've probably committed numerous atrocities than I am about to list: bleaching and dying my hair poorly so that in the end, shaving it all off for cancer for kids wasn't as profoundly hard to do as it would be today.
I fall asleep often with all my makeup on. I also never do my hair, and there are days I don't even brush it just put it up in a pony tail; sometimes I even blow dry and flat iron my hair without any heat protecting spray. I exfoliate 4 times a week, and use straight tea tree oil on my face.

I am definitely seeking to rectify my absurd laziness...

    1. I've heard a lot of horror stories about bleached hair, and I'm so glad that I am naturally blond so I don't need to do that in order to dye my hair in extreme colors. Shaving off your hair for kids with cancer is very admirable! :)
Haha, I don't brush my hair every day either. After having had it put up in a deathhawk I can go about a week with tangles on my head. XD

  7. I love this post :-) I can relate to "lazy hair" when doing a look. I might be totally exhausted or affected by an adult beverage, that I just ignore the hair...

Also- I am a face picker. If I get a breakout, I will pick and pick until I'm satisfied and left with a crater. :-(
I also never used to wear SPF, now I wear it everyday. So lose points in one area, but gain in another :-)

    1. I'm glad to hear! I thought it would be fun to hear everyones beauty sin confessions. ^_^

I find it extremely hard to use SPF everyday since I haven't found one that suits me. They all feel so heavy on the skin.
